JoSAA Special Round Counseling 2023: Important Details
Education expert Amit Ahuja said that, according to the vacant seat matrix published on the CSAB website, there are a total of 11,295 vacant seats in 93 colleges including NITs and IIITs, of which 4,406 seats are vacant in 32 NITs. This includes 3,454 seats from the gender-neutral pool and 952 seats from the female pool.
Additionally, 26 IIITs have 2,196 vacant seats, with 1,931 seats from the gender-neutral pool and 265 seats from the women’s pool. There are a total of 4,693 vacant seats in the 35 GFTIs, including 4,618 from the gender-neutral pool and 75 from the female pool. Of these 11,295 vacant seats, 10,003 are from the gender-neutral pool and 1,212 are from the female pool.
CSAB counseling is underway, which indicates that a total of 11,295 seats remain in JoSAA counselling, for which either there is no allotment or students have withdrawn from these seats.
Vacant seats are approximate only
Expert Ahuja suggested that while filling the choice of CSAB special round counselling, students should fill the college choices according to their interest as the seat matrix published on the website is only approximate and more seats are likely to remain vacant.
Additionally, students who have been allotted a college seat in JoSAA counselling, if they participate in the special round of counseling and do not get a college seat better than their allotted seat, will be re-allotted in the college seat allotted in JoSAA counselling. In such a situation, these students should prefer only those college branches which are better than their previous JoSAA college seats, i.e. if they are allotted a new college branch in CSAB counselling, their JoSAA seats will be cancelled, and newly allotted college seats. shall be considered final.
